This morning, Broadway at the Hobby Center announced a lottery for $25 orchestra seats for the return of Wicked, which opens on July 10 and runs through August 11. A limited number of discount tickets will be available for every performance; to enter the lottery, come to the Hobby Center box office two and a half hours prior to the show with a photo ID. Two hours before the show, names will be drawn from a lottery drum. Each winner has the option to purchase up to two tickets at $25 each—cash only.
Wicked, which made its Broadway debut in 2003, tells the backstories of The Wizard of Oz's witches—Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. Named the best musical of the decade by Entertainment Weekly, Wicked has been seen by 36 million people and racked up 2.9 billion in ticket sales.
