Benchmark by Old Gringo men's full-quill ostrich "Tioga" boots in Brandy, $995 at Pinto Ranch

Finally, we have acheived a victory in the fight against gender discrimination.

Don't worry, it's not concerning pay equality, sexual assault on college campuses, or the overwhelming pressure to read Lean In. That would be a tall order on a holiday weekend.

No, we're talking about the boot selection at Houston-based Pinto Ranch. For nearly 15 years, female customers have had scads of Old Gringo boots to choose from, while the separate and unequal men's section had only a pittance. It would not be outrageous to hypothesize that for every 100 pairs of women's Old Gringo boots sold at Pinto Ranch, men's boots by Old Gringo made up less than 70 percent. Unconscionable. Until today.

"Traditionally, we’ve carried a large assortment of Old Gringo boots for ladies and only select styles for men. Now we’re able to offer high-quality exotic men’s boots under the well-known Old Gringo brand,” says a triumphant Mike Burchett, Pinto Ranch's merchandising manager, via press release.

The exclusive new Benchmark by Old Gringo line includes 19 different styles in exotic animal skins like full-quill ostrich and caiman crocodile, with prices starting at $545 going all the way up to $1,495.

Equality: hey, nobody ever said it was cheap.
