Once a year, Houston photographer Omar Marcos steps out from behind the camera to organize a fashion show raising funds for a good cause. On Thursday, fashionistas and philanthropists gathered at Midtown’s Proof Bar for #RunwayForACureHouston, a Marcos-sponsored event benefiting the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

This year the show featured local designers and boutiques including Isrel, Azuz Boutique, Inclan, Stacks on Racks, Jo'se Reyes, and Danny Nguyen Couture. Isrel’s Spring collection featured light airy dresses and blouses ideal for Houston’s scorching summers. A standout of the evening was Art Institute Alum Paola Contreras for Inclan. Appropriately dubbed “Athletic Cubism,” Contreras’s designs are comprised of geometric shapes with pops of royal blue and yellows. Jo'se Reyes, who showed at Fashion Houston, did not disappoint with his distinctive regal collection that included metallics draped with fur. Danny Nguyen closed the show with his signature couture gowns and suits with a subtle Asian influence.
