You might be able to find Fluff Bake Bar's homemade Oreo cookies, Fluffernutters, and other fun desserts in the pastry case at Revival Market, but there's at least one Fluff Bake Bar favorite you won't find there: chef Rebecca Masson's kolaches, which she'll be selling at a one-day-only pop-up breakfast this Saturday at Southside Espresso called (appropriately enough for a pastry with Czech origins) Czech It Out!
Masson will be joined by Matt Opaleski and Jason Hill of H-Town StrEATs, who'll be selling their own savory kolaches from their food truck outside the Montrose coffee shop. Masson's sweet flavors will include cherry with Thai basil, peaches with Werther's caramel curd, and lemongrass coconut, while the H-Town StrEATs flavors will include boudin, kimchi with mascarpone and bacon, tomato with fresh mozzarella and basil, and even a kolache filled with Gatlin's barbecue.
The big kolache sale starts at 8 a.m. sharp, and will last until everything is sold out. Judging from previous kolache pop-ups, this won't take long, so get to Southside early. And if you miss this event, don't fret: Revival Market often does kolache breakfasts of their own on weekend mornings. Watch their Facebook page for info on these special kolache Saturdays.
