Taoray Wang's Fall/Winter 2015 colletion at New York Fashion Week

Chinese designer Taoray Wang launched her highly anticipated namesake line last September at New York Fashion Week and what a glorious occasion it was. She paid her dues by working at the Chinese luxury label Broadcast:Bo, one of the biggest and most profitable fashion houses in all of Asia—it has a market share of 2.3 billion Chinese yuan. Even though her journey has been highly successful, with her latest collection Wang has truly hit a turning point, making a compelling argument that hers should soon be a household name.

Her presentation for fall was a tale of taste for a modern businesswoman who is familiar with power and being the center of attention. Her luxuriously modern take on ready-to-wear is astounding: at once simple, classic, voluminous and unexpected. The shapely silhouettes coated in gorgeous wool outerwear hummed a decadent song of fall with warmth and an energy that calls to mind a woman who knows what she wants and is chasing it wholeheartedly.
