Like most people, we love getting hands-on and experimenting with all the make-up and beauty balms at Sephora, but when it comes down to it, we'd much rather pay drugstore prices for our products. Walgreens—yes, Walgreens—has apparently heard our product prayers and created a space that's the best of both worlds.
Walgreens picked 13 stores in the greater Houston area to introduce Houstonians to Boots Beauty counters, staffed by consultants who can offer samples, explain how a certain formula will work with your skin and of course give out free makeovers. Boots, for the uninitiated, is a British skincare and makeup brand that was developed by the drugstore of the same name, and which has gained a global following for their line of products that perform way above their sticker price.
The original Boots No7 line includes a slew of super-popular moisturizers for under $25, an award-winning primer and a line of $4 lipsticks designed by Lipstick Queen founder Poppy King, among other finds. That line has long been widely available in the U.S. (you can find products at Ulta and Target, among other stores), but Walgreens is also carrying Boots' Botanics and Extract lines, made from natural plant-based ingredients, and lines of hair and bath products developed by the brand.
While you're at Walgreens, it's worth noting that the store also stocks acclaimed (yet affordable) French beauty brands Vichy and La Roche-Posey. And Andes Mints on the candy aisle just a few steps away. What more could you want?
