There are over 30 YMCA locations in the greater Houston area. And come election day, November 8, every single one of them will be offering free childcare so that parents can get out there and rock the vote.

As someone who spent a significant portion of her youth in childcare at the Post Oak Y, I can tell you firsthand that the YMCA is an awesome place to get really into tempera paints and board games (though that was the 80s, and perhaps the Y has newer ways to keep kids entertained). I also know that childcare can be really tough to arrange for any family, especially childcare that's safe and doesn't drain your bank account.

That's where the YMCA of Greater Houston comes in. Each location is giving parents two free hours of childcare on Tuesday, November 8. All that parents need do is visit their local YMCA in person to register their kids and pick a two-hour window of time that works best for them. Working late? Most YMCA locations are open until 9:30 or 10 p.m.

For more details, call your local YMCA, and whatever you do—get out there and vote, y'all.
