For many of us, the truth is Super Bowl Sunday is as much about where and what to eat as it is about the game itself. As the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos gear up for tackles and touchdowns, the only fumble we're concerned about is squandering one of the year's great gustatory opportunities. Lucky for us, many Houston restaurants and bars are taking on the challenge of hosting Super Bowl parties featuring mouthwatering game day food and drink specials. Below are a few of the most delicious destinations at which to huddle up with your team .

Beginning at 3 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, Doc's will be hosting a crawfish boil with Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo concert ticket giveaways and plenty of lite beer swag. The Montrose mainstay recently launched a new menu with fun game day dishes such as cheese tots, smoked brisket and pork nachos. For the big day, they'll be taking table reservations. With the addition of two big screens on the patio along with 17 inside, guests can keep up with all of the action from any seat in the house.

Score tacos while the players score touchdowns at Arnaldo Richard's Picos. The Upper Kirby restaurant will broadcast the game both indoors and outdoors and will be offering happy hour drink specials and half-priced appetizers from 4 p.m. onward. Tasty selections include queso flameado—melted Chihuahua cheese topped with Mexican chorizo or sautéed mushrooms and poblano peppers—and the Nachos Jorge, topped with marinated onions and jalapeños.

Pour Society welcomes guests to enjoy an array of food and drink specials while watching the Super Bowl on any of the 17 screens broadcasting the game. The recently opened gastropub, located at Gateway Memorial City, will feature regional specials from chef Greg Lowry, including Denver green chili and Carolina barbecue sandwiches with smoked pork shoulder and Carolina vinegar sauce, along with game day favorites like 75-cent wings and $2 beer.
