Parkour: not intended for indoor use.

So, you got inspired after reading our I Tried It series on parkour and you're ready to try your hand(s and feet) at some cat leaps and swing throughs—but you're also not totally ready to spend money on classes that teach you how to treat the city like a jungle gym. Isn't the best part of parkour that it's free? you may be asking yourself.

For you, dear penny-pincher, tonight it is. Discovery Green is hosting a free beginners class taught by parkour experts that kicks off this evening at 6:30 p.m. Over the course of an hour-and-a-half, certified parkour coaches will teach you how to climb, crawl, vault and jump your way "through any environment" (though in Houston, you can be sure that environment will always be flat and moist).

Interested parkour novices should meet no later than 6:45 p.m. on Discovery Green's big deck under the oak trees. The class size is limited to the first 25 people who arrive (and to children 12 and older, with parental consent), so don't be late. Though you'll need to bring your own water, the only other things you'll need for this parkour class are attached to your torso (so bring those too).

A few more for good measure...
