Best known for his documentaries, films and music videos for stars like David Bowie, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston, director Julien Temple showcases several of his films at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston this weekend. Fans can look forward to screenings of Absolute Beginners, Jazzin’ for Blue Jean and Earth Girls are Easy, to name a few.

Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at Asia Society’s annual festival, featuring delicious cuisine from food trucks—Casian King, Churrasco Truck and Wokker TX are among the options—activities for the whole family, and over a dozen vendors. Performances will be held every hour by dance groups across the city.

Beyonce: The Formation World Tour

Forget sipping on tea; take a big gulp of Lemonade. Queen Bey performs a live show of the newly released album for The Formation World Tour at NRG stadium. Although radio stations have stated that tickets are sold out, look to third-party websites for resales—though, they might be a little pricey.

Houston Ballet: Seasons Selections

This free show will include a variety of works, opening with a performance of Stanton Welch’s Velocity—a fast-paced ballet unlike the sleepier Swan Lake-style performances you may be used to. Christopher Bruce then presents Ghost Dances, which focuses on Latin America’s political dilemmas, and the third act of Ben Stevenson’s version of The Sleeping Beauty will top off the night.

Lug out your lightsabers and don your best Han Solo and Princess Leia costumes for War’Hous annual two-day event that combines two of the greatest works of art: paintings and Star Wars. The event includes 200 pieces of artwork, meet-and-greets with the Jedis behind the creations, live music and more.
