Labor Day is almost upon us, but Macy’s at Memorial City Mall is throwing one last summer bash this weekend, and it's going to be caliente. This Sunday* shoppers will be treated a special three-hour appearance and performance from CNCO

This brand-new Latino boy band—their debut album Primera Cita hits stores on Friday—is a perfect blend of golden-era Menudo and the still-simmering One Direction. Like 1D, the group was formed on a singing competition show, Univision's La Banda, and created by Simon Cowell, but with the added sex appeal of perfectly rolled Rs. The five members of CNCO (pronounced by saying each letter—don't call them cinco) have already released two singles, "Tan Fácil" and "Quisiera," since their victory this past winter, both of which received major radio airplay, and opened for Ricky Martin (a La Banda judge and producer) on his tour earlier this year.

Basically, this is the most famous pop group that the average Houstonian has probably never heard of—and they are performing at Memorial City Mall for free. Be warned: There will be some excited teen girl screaming. And some is probably an understatement. Members Christopher Vélez, Erick Brian Colón, Joel Pimental, Richard Camacho and Zabdiel de Jesús will be available for photos and autographs at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Macy’s first floor women’s department, before they’re scheduled to perform in-store at 3 p.m. And it gets better: The first 200 customers to spend $35 or more in the junior's department will get to meet the band as well as receive a copy of their new album.

If their performance inspires you to check out La Banda, you're in luck. Second season auditions were held in the Galleria’s Westin Oaks in February before moving on to Miami, New York and L.A. This time co-ed contestants took the stage; season two should premier later this year.

*Update: the original version of this story had the incorrect date of the CNC performance. It is Sunday, Aug. 28, not Saturday. Houstonia regrets the error.
