You have the blurry, margarita-fueled memories to prove that you know about the Mexican army’s victory over France in 1862. Or at least that celebrating Cinco de Mayo is, like, way fun. How to make it even more of a celebration? Pair your marg with one of Houston’s other favorites—seafood. Here are three of the best ways to eat your fish Mexican-style:

Caracol

You’ll want a reservation to live it up with the upscale coastal cuisine served here. To really mark the occasion, order the langosta Puerto Nuevo, a whole wood-fired lobster with homemade tortillas and all the fixings.

Ostioneria Michoacán

As the name suggests, oysters are the star here. Go for them on the half shell or try them fried and served with salad, rice and fries. For a more elegant touch, order a dozen grilled and topped with grated cheese and pico de gallo.

Tampico Seafood

Since 1996, the red snapper a la plancha has been deservedly celebrated. Get it alone or as part of a seafood parillada, sizzling with your choice of sauce and water-dwelling edibles from scallops to frog legs.
