Check out Dancing Under the Stars on July 14th at Sugar Land Town Square, where couples will learn dance moves from Fred Astaire Dance Studio instructors. Fun for the Whole Family
Grab your lawn chairs and bring the whole family to Movies Under the Moon taking place in Sugar Land Town Square all summer long. The free event allows families to watch kid-friendly films on a jumbo outdoor screen. Movies include “Moana” June 10, “Pete’s Dragon” July 8, “The Lego Batman Movie” Aug. 12 and “Beauty and the Beast” Sept. 16.
Families can tap into their creative sides at Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center (part of the Sweet Summer $2 off program). In Kidtropolis, children can become important decision-makers and play the role of bankers, shoppers, leaders and business owners, or check out the Tot Spot, an interactive play zone with puzzle-solving gadgets and oversize windows and doors for climbing. Bounce on over to Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park and experience over-the-top obstacle courses, trampolines, and ropes courses for all ages and fitness levels.
The national award-winning performing arts studio Inspiration Stage brings "Hairspray" the musical to the historic Sugar Land Auditorium, from July 18-Aug. 13. See a show in the 394-seat, fully restored, 100-year-old auditorium and see why Inspiration Stage has won national awards for its youth theatrical performances. Upcoming shows include “Annie Jr.,” “The Sound of Music” and “Aladdin Jr.”
Grab your peanuts and Cracker Jacks for summer’s favorite pastime. Everyone is welcome at Sub Zero Ice Cream and Yogurt with over 30 flavors (amaretto, dulce de leche, pistachio) and different ice cream bases (regular, vegan, gluten-free) to choose from. While there, visit the Digital Dome Theater, which shows a different educational film every half-hour, and visit the aquatic life inside the 2,000-gallon saltwater aquarium.
If puzzles excite you, try Escape Again where you and your team are immersed in a real-life adventure game, solving puzzles and challenges to escape one of the themed rooms in less than 60 minutes. Themes include losing your way while hiking with friends, solving the mystery of a reality show star gone missing, or finding Santa’s list before Christmas arrives. Discover local finds and the freshest produce at the Farmer’s Market at Imperial every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stroll past tables where farmers and local artisans showcase their freshest vegetables and fruits as well as goods like succulents, canned jellies and homemade cheeses. Come hungry because food truck vendors also set up shop during the market—featuring lobster rolls, tacos, Italian ices and more.
