Diners will line up at Oh My Gogi for a good cause.

Fans of good, local cuisine have a good cause to turn out for on Wednesday, June 28. Partners in Building, a local luxury custom homes manufacturer, and the Recipe For Success Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting childhood obesity, have teamed up to host Rhythm in the Heights. The event will be located at Fountain Park on 26th (939 W. 26th St.), a gated community recently developed by Partners in Building, containing a mix of town homes and single-family homes.

Rhythm in the Heights will combine food and drink tastings from local chefs and creators along with live music. Some of Houston’s most recognizable chefs will be offering grilling demonstrations, including Robert Del Grande of Café Annie, Ryan Pera of Coltivare and Revival Market, and Roberto Espinosa of Tacodeli. In addition, several food trucks will be offering their own bites, including Oh My Gogi!, Skratch Food Truck, and Truck on the Bayou. Local tequila label Titanium Tequila will be pouring tastings of their lineup as well.

The entertainment for the evening will be provided by Mango Punch!, a long-time local group that has won Best Latin Band six times from the Houston Press.

Tickets are on sale now for $20; the event runs from 7-10 p.m., with the grilling demonstrations lasting for the first half of the evening and Mango Punch! playing for the second half. All of the proceeds from the event will go toward Recipe for Success and its programs to combat childhood obesity, which include school nutrition education, children’s cookbooks and the Hope Farms urban agriculture project.
