Let’s face it – summer in Houston is HOT. Wandering around outside is not a choice activity, but all of the delights across Uptown Park give us ample cause to move from store to store.
One of the most exciting new developments at the center – MISS Academy, a new pop-up retailer that makes learning cotillion skills fun by adding a modern twist. Their goal: To elevate the status of women in society, beginning on the individual level, by rewriting the rules and turning up the flare. Their one-week sessions throughout the summer show girls ages 5-26 the entirety of their potential and gives them the tools to access and utilize it.
On any given summer day, though, there’s plenty at Uptown Park to help you realize your full potential. Summer styles at BB1 Classic and Carrie Ann Boutique will keep you cool and on-trend – while a piece from Top Drawer Lingerie gives your look a solid foundation and an accessory from High Gloss tops off your unique look.
Something cold and delicious to drink is always the goal in summer months – and there are so many choices throughout the center. A cocktail at The Tasting Room, Songkran Thai Kitchen or Uptown Sushi cools us down and makes us happy. Special shout-out to Etoile Cusine et Bar, who house makes all of their mixers for a naturally delectable drink.
Of course, the heat is not friendly to our hair. But Drybar and Céron Hair Studio are here to help – with stylists that can re-energize our look and make us say, “What humidity?” Meanwhile, Serente Spa helps our skin forget the summer hazards – leaving us overall calm, cool and collected.
One thing we love even more in the summer – weekends. There’s something magical about them, and Bill Walker Clothiers is our go-to for guys’ weekend wear – Vineyard Vines, Tommy Bahama – and a few fancier things if we’re for that upcoming date night. Of course, a quick walk over to M PENNER for a new summer suit will make even the toughest day at the office a little brighter –and a stop at Elizabeth Anthony for a dress to coordinate perfectly with that suit for summer weddings. A couple of summer treats for the kids (and ourselves) at Crave Cupcakes or Araya Artisan Chocolates – and consider our summer made.
