If you close your eyes and try hard enough, you might be able to cure your vacation envy at this year’s Sundown at The Grove craft beer festival.
The annual series—now in its sixth year—is returning every Wednesday from July 5 to August 30 with a new destination theme each week. For $20, you can soak up the tastes and sounds of Los Angeles or Belize from the comfort of Discovery Green.
Each week will feature a different local craft brewery with food and music pairings inspired by a popular Southwest Airlines destination. Also new this year: the option for wine pairings instead of beer.
The series kicks off July 5 with a taste of Mexico City and an array of beers provided by 8th Wonder Brewery. Executive sous chef at The Grove Ernesto Villareal will be creating a menu to pair with four 8th Wonder samples: Weisstheimer, IP8, Dome Faux'm, and Hopston.
DJ Sun will provide the music for the entire series, which will hopefully help facilitate your dream vacation state-of-mind — even if only for a few hours.
Each event is expected to sell out. Tickets, which are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis, can be bought online or at the door. (We obviously recommend getting on that ahead of time, just like a real vacation.)
