School is out for the summer and it’s time to start making plans for Independence Day Weekend. Located on Lake Houston in Kingwood, Kings Harbor effortlessly combines relaxing lakeside views and the feeling of getting away with the ease of access for neighbors, visitors and families. Kings Harbor is hosting its 5th annual concert and fireworks show on Saturday, July 1 from 7-10 PM and here are 5 reasons why you won’t want to miss it!

1. Eat and Shop Local

Kings Harbor is a dynamic waterfront, 20 acre mixed-use, pedestrian-oriented village located in the heart of northeast Houston. The only commercial development within the market located directly on Lake Houston, Kings Harbor offers the perfect blend of uses, including locally owned and operated restaurants and boutique shops. Eat and shop local and enjoy the very best Kings Harbor has to offer.

2. #Views

Eat, shop and relax away from it all! At Kings Harbor, each restaurant offers a complimentary lake view with any entrée purchased. Each restaurant has a built-in patio area that faces Lake Houston, giving you picturesque views, gorgeous sunsets and a cool breeze off the waters. On Independence Day Weekend, it is recommended to make a reservation to guarantee your patio view with family and friends.

3. The Grass is Always Greener…

Got kids? Bring them to play and dance on Kings Harbor’s brand new turf plaza, The Green. It’s like your backyard… but better! Don’t have kids? That’s okay, no one will judge you for cutting loose on The Green. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs out on The Green and enjoy the sunset, lake views and live music on July 1st.

4. A Salute to the 50s and 60s

Saturday evening’s celebrations will kick off at 7 PM with a throwback performance from Johnny & The Spinsations, recapturing the timeless sounds of the 50s and 60s, plus the very best of the rest. Their musical tribute to the greatest artists of the early Rock and Roll era entertains music fans of all ages, as the band plays one classic after another by Sam Cooke, The Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, Elvis, The Beatles, and more.

5. End Your Night With a Bang!

To cap off the Independence Day Weekend celebration, enjoy a 12-minute fireworks show off of Kings Harbor’s newly rebuilt pier at 9:30 PM.

This year’s fireworks show is sponsored by: Insperity, Silversand Services, The Berry Bar, Sharky’s, Zammitti’s, Hometrust Mortgage, Pretty Little Things, Jennika’s, Raffa's, Harbor View Apartments and Harbor Cove Apartments.
