After a couple teases and a six-month design process, JJ Watt's first clothing collection is finally here. And to mangle a line from another Houston menswear expert, you're gonna like the way it looks. I guarantee it.
The JJ Watt Collection is an line designed exclusively for Mizzen + Main that includes eight shirts—six dress shirts ($145) and two polos ($80). And basically every one of them is ready for game day, because virtually the entire collection is red and blue—Watt notes that they aren't just Texans colors, they're America's colors. In a behind-the-scenes video released with the launch, Watt describes the overall style as "bold, but classy."
“JJ is not only a Brand Ambassador for Mizzen+Main, he has truly become a part of our core team. It felt very fitting for him to design a collection for the brand,” says Mizzen + Main founder and CEO Kevin Lavelle in a press release. “We ended up with an amazing collection of shirts with which we are thrilled to have JJ Watt’s name alongside ours.”
Each shirt is named for a street that holds importance in Watt's life—the Bent Creek, a red and blue check, is named after the first street Watt lived on in Houston. The shirts are limited edition (so don't even think about waiting until the preseason starts) and available now at the Mizzen + Main website.
