Summer activities in Texas range from a river tubing trip to a daytime cycling bar crawl to two-stepping at a historic dance hall. Be prepared for every adventure on your list when you find your weekend warrior gear at Emerson Rose.
The 19th Street shop is tucked underneath Harold’s in the Heights and merits an inch-by-inch exploration of every nook and cranny. The shop nails the laid-back, flirty vibe encapsulated in the classic movie Dazed and Confused—except, of course, you don't have to be in high school to pull off this style. Perfectly distressed denim in all shades from your favorite labels are perfect for pairing with basics.
My favorite are my incredible new Articles of Society camo denim stretch pants I picked up for a weekend in the Hill Country; light as a feather with a subtle enough print to pass for an olive green pant. My toddler has unwittingly attempted to destroy these pants multiple times and has made zero progress because everything simply blends in with the pattern. I’ve paired these pants with a billowy t-shirt on the weekend, embroidered peasant tops for hitting the newest bar in town, and flowing white blouse with bold baubles for work. They are my new go-to clothing item and I can’t fathom my summer wardrobe without them.
More than anything, Emerson Rose has accounted for the ridiculous heat Houstonians endure over the summer months and has crowded their racks with clothing that best suits our tropical, sun-drenched climate. Everything is lightweight, from billowy basic tees and tee-dresses by Z Supply to traditional Mexican blouses in updated cuts to minis, crop tops, and rompers. A small selection of shoes and perfectly memed tumblers, trucker hats, beaded jewelry, and organizers help you to complete your outfit, put together a last-minute present, or create new additions for your wish list.
