Proving that rumors of its demise were greatly exaggerated, today comes the news that Fluff Bake Bar is re-opening Saturday, January 20. "Sugar Hooker" Rebecca Masson's bakeshop had been out of commission since October, when a water line belonging to apartments over the shop broke, flooding Fluff's dining room. You may have seen her around town doing pop-ups in the meantime.
This will not be a quiet re-opening. Things kick off with a Saturday Morning Bake Sale featuring 44 Farms, and items you can grab include a prime rib benedict sandwich, a fajita tostada with a fried egg, and brisket with pimento cheese on a pretzel roll. They'll all be available until Fluff sells out.
Masson, as you might have guessed, is way excited to re-open the shop.
“It was like a punch to the face watching the water pour down in the shop," Masson said. "But I think Fluff will come out of this stronger and better than before."
Even if you've been to Fluff in the past, this version of the store will be new to you. New work from Donkeeboy graces the space, and the design of the shop has been streamlined. You can see for yourself starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at 314 Gray St.
