IT'S MONDAY. Let’s start the week by cleaning out the inbox and scouring the Houston food and drink scene. Here is your weekly news update.

Well, the Astros are tied at one win a piece in their best-of-seven American League Championship Series against Boston. That means there will at least be three more games. That means three more options to take advantage of food-and-drink deals. Among them:

Tobiuo is slashing 10 percent off your bill if you show up wearing Astros gear on a gameday.

Grab a $6 margarita at Molina's Cantina on game days.

Kenny & Ziggy's has brought back its Houston Astros Homerun Sandwich for the postseason. For $21.95, get this kosher salami, pastrami, corned beef, and turkey breast sandwich with rye, coleslaw, and Russian dressing (plus provolone and sweet peppers) at both K&Z locations.

Dish Society is offering a $10 gameday deal of soft pretzel sticks and smoked good queso with a pint of Texas craft beer.

Speaking of deals, October 15-28 is Ritual Eats Week, in which the order-ahead app Ritual is working with 50 local restaurants and eateries that are offering at least 50 percent off menu items. Those eateries include Tacos a Go Go, burger-chan, Fusion Eats, and Antone's Famous Po'Boys. How do you get these deals? Of course, download the app and start using it (it's great for those group work lunch orders).

Pappy's Cafe is celebrating 35 years this week (October 15-21) with drink specials, live music, raffles and more. Plus, you can get longtime staples like pot roast, chicken 'n dumplings, king ranch chicken and, gulp, $1.50 margaritas.

Hope Farms (through its Recipe for Success Foundation) hosted the Chefs in the Field pig roast on Thursday evening, an event raising more than $10,000 to combat childhood obesity. A few local chefs participated by contributing some fabulous dishes, among them a fall slaw with apple, kale, orange miso dressing, and grilled eggplant from Erin O'Leary Stewart of DEFINE Foods; a smoked whole hog with l'orange sauce from Tommy Laczynski of Fig & Olive; and a roti pe boti pork in Indian spices from Mayank Istwal of the soon-to-open Musaafer.

Maclane's Cafe is launching an expanded dinner menu starting Tuesday. Among the newcomers? A deconstructed California roll (avocado, lump crab, sesame seeds, chive cream cheese, cucumbers, dressing), shrimp and grits with Texas goat cheese, and calamari with wild mushrooms in a soy reduction. The lunch menu at Maclane's will remain as is.
