The ladies of DASH have good taste—Houstonians benefit from it twice a year with their biannual market, an acronym for Design Art Style Home. Next weekend, the fall market returns to Silver Street Studios, where more than 80 one-of-a-kind dealers will offer their wares in home décor, furniture, gifts, fashion, and more, with a special emphasis on the holidays this year, DASH founders say, both find products to gift and to use in one's own home as party season ramps up.

But Michelle Maresh, Angela Poujol, Lisa Erwin, and Vanessa Sendukas are playing more than host this year—they're vendors, too, thanks to the introduction of DASH HOME, a curated collection based on the trends popping up at markets and on their own favorite things.

"We wanted to offer our own ideas," Poujol says, noting they were careful in their curation so as not to compete with their own established DASH vendors. For the line's premiere at the fall market, shoppers can expect to find unique holiday ornaments, barware, small furniture pieces, and men's gifts, the latter notoriously hard to find.

The collection, which will also be available online, is representative of each of the four women's tastes, which range from "relaxed and casual" to "uniform and symmetrical." Everyone brought something to the table, "and always with a good glass of wine," Poujol says.

True to DASH form, the market is more of a four-day event series than a singular shopping destination. It begins Thursday, November 1 with a preview party from 6–9 p.m. with live music, an open bar, cooking demos with Chef Jay of Manna Distributors and Suly Weissman of Gaggenau Kitchens, and bites from Island Grill and Relish Restaurant & Bar.

On Friday, a two-hour lecture on living large in small spaces—a hot trend in Houston, the DASH founders say, especially as mid-rises proliferate—is free to all market guests, and ASID designers will earn credit for attending.

Saturday is full of DIY workshops starting at 11 a.m. with custom door mats from The Rustic Brush. Noon brings a succulent arrangement class, and 3 p.m. is dedicated to soap bombs from Love & Make Workshops. Later, from 4–6 p.m., DASH dealer Suzanne Coppola of Laurier Blanc hosts a happy hour with live music, a silent auction, and more shopping, and 100 percent of advance ticket sales will benefit Dwell with Dignity, the weekend's philanthropic focus. The Dallas-based nonprofit, currently fundraising to establish a Houston chapter, designs and installs complete, comfortable home interiors for families in need.

DASH has partnered with five other charities in as many years, and when Coppola approached organizers about Dwell with Dignity this year, they knew the organization's mission complemented their own.

"The four of us, fortunately, were able to provide homes for our kids," Poujol says. "We realize the value of having a safe environment ... All of us jumped on [this partnership]; we all were in agreement that we felt we could make a difference."

Festivities conclude on Sunday, when DEFINE offers a pop-up fitness class for anyone who's not satisfied with shopping as cardio. Tickets are available online; fall market admission is $10 Friday–Sunday, and workshop prices vary.
