Daisy

March 31–April 9 | Main Street Theater

Sean Devine's 2016 play follows the story of the LBJ's 1964 "Daisy" campaign ad that kicked off the modern era of negative political campaigns. As the playwright told Houstonia, it's a story that dovetails with our own historical moment. "This is about how voters can be manipulated and how influential media is," he says.

Tickets from $45. Main Street Theater, 2540 Times Blvd. 713-524-670. More info and tickets at mainstreettheater.com.

Grease(d)! A Live Parody

March 31 | Station Theater

Revisit Grease, this time with a campy and consent-filled twist courtesy of the Houston-based comedy group, the Career Offenders, who take the stage as students of the Rydell High Class of 2018.

Tickets $10. Station Theater, 1230 Houston Avenue. More info and tickets at eventbrite.com.

Bunnies on the Bayou

April 1 | Buffalo Bayou Water Works

This annual event started in 1979 with a group of friends in a Montrose apartment complex and snowballed into an Easter staple raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for LGBT charities. Now billed as Texas's largest outdoor cocktail party, think of it as a way to do a good deed without skipping Sunday Funday.

Tickets from $50. Buffalo Bayou Water Works, 105 Sabine St. 832-444-8717. More info and tickets at bunnieonthebayou.com.
