Sweater weather is so yesterday (literally, brrr, you guys), but it's almost time to dust off the old bathing costume and take to the chlorinated shores of the not-too-distant wave pool. That's right, Wet’n’Wild SplashTown returns for summer season on May 5 (Fridays to Sundays only) and officially on May 25 (open daily).
Season passes are now on sale at $64.99 for families of four or $69.99 for individuals, including free parking pass and bring-a-friend tickets. You can also add a season meal plan—mmm, nachos—for $69.99 more.
The 33-year-old, 48-acre water park is an area favorite, featuring 41 slides and rides, including the Alien Chaser, a six-story, two-person slalom drop-and-dive tube slide, the first of its kind in Texas, and the Flow Rider, a faux-surfing attraction, much like the ones that often end up on the glorious kookslams Instagram page. Be careful, kids. You don't want to be internet famous for this.
If you just prefer lurking in your tankini and downing proteins, good news. As of Memorial Day weekend, Rudy’s BBQ will be popping up on the weekends here, but there are other new menu items to be found around the park: spicy chicken tenders, The Texas Luau Sandwich, slow-roasted pork carnitas and The Texan Burger with onion rings and barbecue sauce. There will also be a Funnel Cake of the Day if you plan to just lie in Corpse Pose for hours afterwards in a tube somewhere (water not required).
Wet’n’Wild SplashTown is located at 21300 Interstate 45 North. Head to wetnwildsplashtown.com to buy passes or get more information.
