If you’ve been missing the Blacksmith by Night pop-ups—they’ve been, in their own words, on a “long hiatus”—we hope you don’t have plans for tomorrow night. Word has come down that they’ve got something cooking Wednesday, bringing together a wagyu expert and a pair of Houston’s barbecue stars, which you are sure to dig.
Heading to Houston–and the reason Blacksmith by Night is returning—is Tokyo-based Hisato Hamada, executive producer and designer of WAGYUMAFIA. Long story short, Hamada represents some of the best wagyu farmers in Japan and WAGYUMAFIA is in the process of opening up restaurants around the world. He’s in Texas to explore wagyu production in the state and spread the good word about the meat. He’s also going to try some Texas barbecue.
To help him with that last part is the team behind Feges BBQ. And since they’re already going to be hanging out, Hamada, Erin Smith, and Patrick Feges are collaborating on tomorrow night’s pop-up. Things kick off a 5 p.m. and run until 8 p.m., provided they don’t sell out first. Take a look at the menu:
- Snake River Farms Wagyu Brisket (4oz) with Cracklin Sweet & Spicy Sprouts ($14)
- Marble Ranch Wagyu Tri Tip (4oz) with Greenway Coffee and Smoked Pig Head Demi ($14)
- Marble Ranch Wagyu Beef Belly Pastrami (4oz) with Homemade Sauerkraut ($12)
- 44 Farms Beef Rib (1 lb) ($20)
Sounds like a pretty good night for you and the carnivore in your life. The event, which takes place at Blacksmith, is BYOB, with no corkage fee, and they’ll do you a solid and provide the cups. Welcome back, however briefly, Blacksmith by Night, and don’t be a stranger.
