Dave Chappelle & Jon Stewart

Thru June 22 | Smart Financial Centre

The combined comedic forces of The Chappelle Show and The Daily Show come to Houston after a successful New York run last year. Details are scant—the comedians goes as far to have the audience secure their smartphones in special pouches out of reach—but, given the names, it's bound to be a good time.

Tickets $69. Smart Financial Centre, 18111 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land. 281-207-6278. More info and tickets at smartfinancialcentre.com.

Houston Pride Festival and Parade

June 23 | Downtown

Houston brings up the rear of Pride Month with its fun, fabulous, and festive annual LGBTQ celebration that draws more than 700,000 of all stripes into the streets of downtown for an all-day to-do (with entertainment from Stephanie Rice and Todrick Hall) and a nighttime parade (with lots of beads and very few clothes). We have what to wear covered, and, from last year, here's how to celebrate. Just a small remember: Any glitter not affixed to your body will be confiscated.

Free.  Begins at Smith and Lamar. More info at pridehouston.org.

Drag Queen Story Hour

June 23 | Brazos Bookstore

Story time is a Saturday morning mainstay at Brazos, but, in honor of Pride Month, local drag queens will take the reins to camp up the weekend tradition. As one queen told us last year: "Just come in with an open mind, and let’s have a good time. It’s all about fun and self-expression and pride—it’s Pride day, after all."

Free. Brazos Bookstore, 2421 Bissonnet St. 713-523-0701. More info at brazosbookstore.com.

Museum of Dysfunction X

Thru June 30 | Mildred's Umbrella

A whole decade has passed since this annual festival of short plays got its start as a one-off gig at Montrose's Avant Garden, and the celebration of "the dark, quirky, and absurd" continues across two weekends at Mildred's new Chelsea Market home. Twenty plays will fire off across both weekends, with three-quarters of the work written by and more than half of the roles cast for women.

Tickets pay-what-you-can. Mildred's Umbrella at Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Blvd. 832-463-0409. More info and tickets at mildredsumbrella.com.

Houston SLAB Holiday

June 24 | 8th Wonder Brewery

SLABs—"slow, loud, and bangin'" vehicles—will take over 8th Wonder with both a procession of swangas and a flashy lineup of performers including Paul Wall, Slim Thud, Dat Boi T, and more. Roll through.

Free. 8th Wonder Brewery, 2202 Dallas st. 713-229-0868. More info via Facebook.
