To liken a trip to Natural Pawz to one to Disney World is not an unfair comparison—and we're not just talking from your furry friend's perspective. Bright, crisp colors burst from the walls in the form of both '80s-esque pet artwork and vibrant bags of natural pet food; the employees, just like at those at theme parks, are eager to make sure your visit is as successful and eye-opening as possible. Better yet, it all started right here in Houston.

From Pearland to Round Rock, Natural Pawz is a chain of pet supply stores celebrating 13 years in business this month. The company's philosophy is grounded in nutrient-based pet food and snacks, and stores carry hand-selected and thoroughly researched products of that sort. Biff Picone and Nadine Joli-Coeur, the dream team behind the operation, have become experts in the natural pet food arena.

Since opening up shop in 2005, Natural Pawz has added exciting amenities to its stores, including accessories, grooming services, and, most recently, product delivery through Postmates.

Still, Natural Pawz is more than just a whimsical and health-conscious pet shop: In 2017 alone, the company donated 250,000 pounds of dog food and has held over 500 adoption events with local rescue groups both on- and off-site.

To celebrate 13 "pawztastic" years this month, Picone, Joli-Coeur, and the Natural Pawz team are offering fun promotions plus daily and weekly specials. You can participate through the end of July at any of the Natural Pawz shops, which are hosting numerous in-store raffles—including one for free food for a year—and social media contests for free pet beds for their “Pawz Nation’s” (Natural Pawz customers) favorite local rescues.

Even though the clock will run out on the anniversary deals, it's never a bad time to visit Natural Pawz and see the magic for yourself, with or without your pet—though we recommend bringing them in for a free treat they'll earn just for being the amazing companions that they are. After all, don’t our pets deserve the best?
