There's really never any reason to be bored or hungry in Houston. But in case you happen to be one or the other this weekend, get outside and check out one of the four food festivals happening in the Bayou City. Spend the afternoon at one, or, if you're really feeling adventurous, hop around to multiple. Fajitas, beer, food trucks, and wings—there are plenty of options for even the pickiest of eaters.
Crack open a tall boy and kick back with friends at Beer Fest U.S.A. Sip on one of the 20 different craft beers, like Dome Faux’m from 8th Wonder Brewery, while exploring a maze of food trucks and listening to live music. Relive your college glory days in a beer pong tournament, or go play some larger-than-life Jenga and Tic Tac Toe.
- Where: White Oak Music Hall, 2915 N. Main St.
- When: 1-10 p.m. Saturday
- Tickets: $10 per person. Buy them here.
Chow down on some good ol’ Tex-Mex while helping the kids. Make your way over to HCC for an afternoon stuffed with tacos, churros, and more, and the proceeds will benefit Texas Lions Camp. Vendors like Fajita Pete’s, El Pibe, and Grandma’s Boys Lemonade will all be there. There will be mariachi bands; Doomsday wrestling; and taco-, watermelon-, and jalapeño-eating contests.
- Where: Houston Community College, 5601 West Loop South
- When: 1-8 p.m. Saturday
- Tickets: Admission is free. Reserve your spot here.
We still have more than a month before football season, but this tailgating staple is the main event at this fest at Capitol Bar. Wingstop will be providing more than 20 different wing flavors for you to try. All. Day. Long. There will be drinks from Capitol, plus Bud Light, as well as live music and games. Don’t miss out on the wing-eating competition—registration is free with your ticket.
- Where: Capitol Bar, 2415 Main St.
- When: 2-10 p.m. Saturday

Stop on by the Houston Food Truck Stop for an all-day party that’ll leave you wishing you never graduated (we're talking Greek life, not gyros and souvlaki). Enjoy live music and entertainment, great food and all things Greek. This festival is friendly for all ages, so bring along your kiddos and let them enjoy the kids-zone.
