Market Street in The Woodlands is a snapshot of upscale national and regional chain culture. Near the Tommy Bahama and Vineyard Vines is a Cru, and near that is Jasper's. Even the French-style bakery and patisserie, la Madeleine has dozens of locations across the country.
So it's a big deal that Market Street's incoming, newest French spot is Levure Bakery & Patisserie. We're talking a Houston-area eatery getting an opportunity to shine beside J. Crew and Brooks Brothers.
Levure, whose original location is at Creekside Park just 20 minutes west of Market Street, will open its second location in August, according to a press release. It features coffee and the usual French bakery fare, from flaky croissants to the eggy comfort staple croque-madame, but it isn't afraid to inject some Southern love in its food (with blue corn bread, refried beans, cheese mix and pico, for one). Levure is open for breakfast and lunch.
And if you want a dessert that refuels you to continue shopping at J. Crew and Brooks Brothers, Sugarfina is also coming to Market Street, per a release, with its second Houston-area location (the other one is at the Galleria). If you're not aware of what Sugarfina brings to the party: ahem ... Rosé All Day gummy bears, plus tons of luxury candies like dark-chocolate sea salt caramels, champagne gummy bears, and build-your-own candy bento boxes.
A local cafe and chic candies? Market Street just got a whole lot sweeter.
