The rumors are swirling. Austin's famous Home Slice Pizza is looking for a place to land in Houston, per reports, though per a representative for Home Slice, a lease has not been signed. If Home Slice does officially announce the opening of a Bayou City location, it may mean long lines for New York style pies.

Shun Japanese Kitchen has made a tweak at the top: owner and founder Naoki Yoshida has taken off the chef's coat to assume a more day-to-day restaurateur role, and executive sous chef Jeff Potts has been promoted to executive chef. Along with that news, Shun has launched its fall menu, which includes 40-day dry-aged pork chop, Gulf snapper with hash brown and shiitake consume, and three-day aged duck breast, along with sushi and robata items.

In a move that can only be described as gluttonous, the H Bar at Tilman Fertitta's Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston has unveiled a burger called the Black Gold: 16 ounces of Japanese A5 wagyu, seared foie gras, black truffles, truffle aioli, and a caviar-infused 24K black and gold brioche bun. It's served alongside 24K gold fries and a bottle of 2006 Dom Perignon. It's inspired by Texas's oil "gold rush" and will cost you ... $1,600. This either makes B&B Butchers's wagyu katsu sando look either wimpy or an amazing deal in comparison.

Urban Harvest's 25-year anniversary Sunday Supper is set for Nov. 3 at St. John's School, and tickets are already sold out. But some news on it: Twenty-five chefs will unite to create a farm-to-table family-style meal for the event. Those names? Hugo Ortega (Hugo's), Felipe Riccio and Adam Garcia (Rosie Cannonball), Kaiser Lashkari (Himalaya), Monica Pope (Sparrow Cookshop), Dawn Burrell (Kulture), and the list goes on.
