Known for its natural scenic beauty, Kerrville thrives in every season, but it shines the brightest in the summer. With a variety of events and things to do that cater to an array of ages and tastes, no one will be saying “I’m bored.”

Take a stroll in Kerrville’s historic downtown while browsing the one of kind works from artisans and craftsmen at the Kerrville Festival of the Arts (May 25 – 26, 2019). And while you’re on your downtown adventure be sure to pop into Kerr Arts & Cultural Center for exhibits like the Southwest Gourd Fine Art Show (May 23 – July 6, 2019) and their gift shop full of goodies made by local artists. Explore the local flora and fauna on the lush grounds of the Riverside Nature Center and be sure to take advantage of the Four Mile River Trail as the Center plays host to one of six trailheads. You will find that the trail not only leads you along one of the most scenic rivers in the Hill Country but one of the prettiest city parks as well, Louise Hayes Park, where you can enjoy a myriad of outdoor activities all a short walking distance from local shops and restaurants.

Maybe culture is more your thing. Well, just pick a venue! The Kathleen C. Cailloux Theater houses a variety of musical and theater performances that will leave you wanting to come back for more. Or you can have a truly unique live theater performance on the banks of the beautiful Guadalupe River at the Hill Country Arts Foundation. Take a walk back in time as you wonder at the galleries of the Museum of Western Art and relive the glory days of the Old West featuring artists such as Bill Nebeker, Frederic Remington, and Fred Harman. Drop in on a songwriter workshop and stay for one of the many famous headliner shows at the Kerrville Folk Festival (May 23 – June 9, 2019), the longest running music festival of its kind in North America.
