1751 Sea & Bar has dropped anchor and is ready for your arrival. The anticipated reboot of Star Fish, helmed by Sambrooks Hospitality's Adrian Cuneo (general manager), Lyle Bento (culinary director), and J.D. Woodward (head chef), is upon us. Boasting more than 100 gins and a gin and tonic menu; plus a raw bar with seafood towers and caviar service; a "charcuterie" board of salmon gravlax, cured tuna, mussels, smoked oysters, and more; and a range of fish-focused entrées, 1751 will celebrate its grand opening Tuesday. 

It'll be open 4-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 4-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 5-10 p.m. Sunday. Happy hour: 4-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

Berg Hospitality Group has revealed its plans for Carmelo's Cucina Italiana, which it bought, then closed in January for an extensive renovation. When it reopens at the end of April, it'll be two concepts: B.B. Italia and B.B. Pizza.

According to a release from the group run by restaurateur Benjamin Berg and brother Daniel Berg, B.B. Italia, which will emphasize classic Italian cuisine, will have a fully remodeled dining room, private event rooms, bathrooms, bar, and facade, along with an outdoor patio. B.B Pizza will be located inside the restaurant, offering New York-style pizza, sub sandwiches and calzones for pickup and delivery.

“Carmelo’s was really a part of the community and had loyal, lifelong customers. We wanted to update it with a new name and look and feel, but continue that neighborhood restaurant tradition,” said Benjamin Berg. “I grew up eating incredible Italian-American food in New York City, and I can’t wait to give the city I now call home a world-class Italian restaurant and continue the legacy of a family-owned-and-operated business of which I know Houstonians will be really proud.”

Daniel Berg, a chef whose resume includes stints at Daniel and Le Bernadin in New York, will head the kitchen. It'll be Berg Hospitality Group's third and fourth concepts in the city, joining B&B Butcher's and B.B. Lemon on Washington Avenue. A sixth concept, a standalone European-American restaurant named Benjamin, has long been planned for The Star luxury apartment building downtown.

The newest Pokéworks is open by the Galleria. Located at 1609 S. Post Oak Lane, the poké bowl and burrito spot is celebrating its opening with buy-one-get-one-free bowls on Saturday. Also on Saturday, Pokéworks will be giving away prizes including gift cards and branded coconuts. Hours: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Finn Hall is launching a beer dinner series this month, with the first scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday. The hall is partnering with Eureka Heights for this one, pairing regular beers and a couple limited-edition releases with food from across Finn Hall. Tickets are $50 and available right now. After Wednesday, the next scheduled beer dinner is April 26 (with 11 Below Brewing Company).

And now for a spring menu and update roundup:

Rainbow Lodge has added a few new dishes for brunch, lunch, and dinner: orcchiette with wild onion pesto, boar sausage crumbles, and home-grown chard; and gnocchi with morels, asparagus, English peas, and pecorino cream.

King's BierHaus has a new happy hour from 3-6 p.m. Monday-Friday ($10 pizza and bier combos, $5 signature half-liter drafts, draft wines, and Haus cocktails).

NextDoor Bar and Lounge in Memorial and Upstairs Bar and Lounge in Rice Village (both a part of Hungry's locations) both have new happy hours from 4-7 p.m. daily ($8 bites, $9 pizzas, $4 Texas drafts, $5 select wines, $6 cocktails, plus specials Wednesday and Thursday).

At Backstreet Cafe, Hugo Ortega has launched springtime crawfish and artichoke menu, which includes crawfish risotto, stuffed artichoke bottom, crawfish enchilada, and a fritto mixto with artichokes, calamari, asparagus, broccoli, and more. 

At La Table's Marché, Punch Brunch Social is starting. From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays, pay $45 and get seasonal, spiked punch bowl cocktails that serve two to four guests and go great with a relaxing brunch with friends. Also new is a two-course prix fixe weekday menu, served 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday for $28 (think colorful salads and entrées like Scottish salmon and a Texas Akaushi burger). 

Vinny's, the new pizza place from Agricole Hospitality, is now delivering (hours 11 a.m.-midnight Tuesday-Sunday) by phone call only (online to come).

The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is in the area. Check it out from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Baybrook Mall in Friendswood. Along with Hello Kitty merchandise, the truck will be selling cookies and other sweets.

Chirpies, made by Simkins Brothers' Sweets out of Arkansas, are snack bites (in flavors like chocolate peanut butter and chocolate cookie dough) made of cricket flour, a gluten-free source of protein.

It's no April Fool's joke: King's Cantina will be taking over both King's Bierhaus in the Heights and King's Biergarten in Pearland tonight, and only tonight. The pop-up will serve Tex-Mex cocktails, food, and décor.
