It's a rather light week in the Houston brewing world, possibly the calm before two storms (Game of Thrones starts on Sunday and the brewing community loves some GoT; also, April 20 is a popular release day ... because it's 4/20). So, take the opportunity during this period to explore a brewery you might not usually visit. There are so many now! Here's the update:

News & Events

Remember: Karbach Crawfish Fest is on Sunday. It starts at noon. You get live music from G. Love & Special Sauce, Bob Schneider, and more, plus plenty of crawfish to suck on and beer to gulp up. Tickets start at $25.

Want to feel like a kid again? 4J Brewing is hosting an adult Easter egg and beer hunt at noon on April 20. Beer tokens will be hidden in eggs (along with other fun items). Kids can participate (because some of the eggs will have candy), but yeah, they can't use those tokens.

Looking for a Game of Thrones trivia night experience? Head to Ingenious, which is hosting one at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Heading to Minute Maid Park for a game? Tall-boy Buckle Bunny cans are available in center field (at the Market) and at the Torchy's bar upstairs.

Beer Releases

Speaking of Game of Thrones, there are plenty of themed releases now: At Ingenious there's Hopwing (8.2 percent ABV double New England IPA with Citra, Cascade, and Eureka hops), Dragongrass (8.1 percent ABV double NEIPA with Mosaic alone), Golden Egg (5 percent ABV blonde with honey), and For The Watch (8.2 percent ABV milk stout conditioned on vanilla beans, coffee beans, coconut, and toasted coconut). All available on draft for pours and crowler fills.

New at Saint Arnold: Cascara Coffee Stout. The coffee comes from Java Pura Coffee Roasters, and the beer is 9 percent ABV with chocolate, cherries, figs, and obviously, coffee notes.

A version-two edition of Nebulous (called Nebulous 2) is on tap at Astral Brewing. This is a hazy IPA at 5.6 percent ABV.

At B-52, get Before The Internet: Music Videos, a hazy double UPA dry hopped with Mosaic, Lotus, and Citra hops; and Smoothie Tart, a peach and lulo beer (sweet and tangy fruits). Both available at 3 p.m. Friday in cans and on draft.
