Last night was THE best night I’ve had in a long time!! We stayed in our PJ’s and had drinks and food, hugged, talked, played with clothes and fashion, and the best part was us all writing notes to women at the @hawctalk center. Today I got SO many tears seeing all the sweet notes you wrote to women going through tough times. I also loved hearing your life stories because you all inspire me. I wouldn’t even have my companies without your support so thank you! THIS!!! This is my Dream!!!!! Seeing all of us women supporting each other and showing love. My heart is so full I just keep happy crying, so thank you for everyone who came. This year is turning into my best year yet ❤️ #womenempowerment #domesticviolenceawareness #womensupportwomen

It’s been many years since I’ve attended a pajama party, and never one in a mansion. But that’s where I found myself on a recent Tuesday night, courtesy of Marlena Stell, a very popular beauty influencer and self-made girl boss. To raise awareness for her burgeoning businesses—cosmetics line Makeup Geek and apparel company Marsté Fashion—Stell hosted a sleepwear soirée the likes of which I haven't seen since fifth grade.

The gorgeous, expansive Sandlewood Manor in Tomball—a favorite wedding venue—opened its doors to an intimate yet still sizable group of pajama-clad women on April 23. It had all the trappings of an excellent sleepover: plenty of snacks (plus an open bar), dress-up, fashion shows, board games, movies, and—duh—makeovers.

Silk and bunny slippers were the garments of choice, and women shuffled from room to room of the luxurious estate, basking in bygone childhood experiences. Clue was set up in the study—where I’m happy to report no murders took place—and excited guests had their friends capture the perfect Instagram shot as they posed on elegantly made beds. With philanthropy at the core of Stell's event, there was even a room for partygoers to write personalized notes to accompany staff-stuffed bags filled with a variety of products from both of Stell’s brands for the Houston Area Women’s Center. The entire occasion was a sorority house sleepover come to life, minus the pillow fight, and the girls-supporting-girls vibe was strong.

Stell’s products were heavily featured, of course, and guests could choose from racks of trendy, body-inclusive clothing from the Marsté Fashion line to try and show off, from sexy body-con dresses to the ever-adaptable kimono.

Stell also brought professional makeup artists—not including those with serious skills already in the crowd—to help guests get glam with the best selections from her Makeup Geek cosmetics line. I always thought it was important to take your makeup off before you went to bed, but it would appear a bomb highlight is the new night light. Such was the case last Tuesday night, at least. 

Guests could also buy some of the items from Marsté Fashion and Makeup Geek, and, judging from all the chicly branded bags being toted around that the house, they took full advantage. Lucky for everyone else, Stell recently partnered with Target to bring her makeup line to the masses. She also announced the launch of her new YouTube series on May 2. Though she didn't dish too many deets, if this series is anything like the sleepover, viewers are in for a good time.
