Soon to join Postino, Bacco, and other wine-focused concepts in Houston is Sixty Vines, a Dallas-based restaurant that will make its local debut this fall in Rice Village.
Sixty Vines, which has locations in Dallas and Plano, touts a menu influenced by Napa Valley wines. We're talking salumi and cheeses (including a charcuterie bar), shared plates emphasizing vegetable preparations (wood-fired cauliflower, crispy zucchini), salads, burgers, wood-fired pizzas, and larger-format meat dishes.
Also look for the restaurant's wine-on-tap program, which is exactly what it sounds like: Wine served from the tap, like beer, at a controlled temperature.
The restaurant will be quite large: 8,700 square feet over two stories, along with a greenhouse patio that looks a little like a wedding reception space, private dining areas, and a wine-cellar-like room. The interior is smart with various seating configurations (including plenty of long tables for group dining), and warm wood framing that gives a slightly upscale, catalog living room feel.
Sixty Vines is scheduled to open in the fall at 2540 University Blvd. as part of the mixed-use Rice Village development. Lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch will be served.
