The temptation to eat all of the foods is very real in Houston, but thankfully, the Bayou City has no shortage of delicious healthy food. No one understands the importance of balance and a smart diet like someone who works in the fitness field, so we asked a few professionals for their favorite meals around town. Two things our trainers agreed on: eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring, and almost all portion sizes can be divided into two, so plan ahead when ordering.

"Flower Child in Uptown Park has awesome options like its build-your-own plates. You can choose up to three options from a list of seasonal veggies and proteins. Vegetables will keep you feeling full while giving you the nutrients you need. Zoe's Kitchen is another favorite. I like to add shrimp kabobs to any of its salads. The Live Med Salad is my favorite, with zucchini squash ribbons and faro."
