Vallensons' Brewing Company took home four medals at the U.S. Open Beer Championship, a competition between more than 7,000 breweries across the world. They won a gold for its Settlers Oatmeal Stout, a bronze for its ExBERRYmental Fruit Beer, a bronze for its Peach Tea Beer, and a bronze for its Tart Cherry Berliner. 8th Wonder, meanwhile, took home a silver for its Haterade and won a bronze for its Weisstheimer.
Karbach is hosting its annual Dia de la Frida, a day to celebrate the life and work of artist Frida Kahlo. The party is noon-8 p.m. Sunday, a day after the 65th anniversary of her death. The event will have DJs and live mariachi music, plus raffles, food trucks, and more.
Holler has rolled out a hazy double IPA called Sheeple Pleaser. It's at 7.9 percent ABV and a tried and true, hazy and citrusy New England IPA.
Ingenious has three beers out now: a Russian imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on cacao nibs, dark chocolate, and chocolate fudge, called Chocolate Madness; that same stout base, but conditioned on coconut flakes and toasted coconut flakes, and it's called Coconut Madness; and that same stout base, but conditioned on a whole bunch of vanilla beans. That's called Vanilla Madness.
The newest beer from Great Heights is a Berliner weisse conditioned on puréed peaches. It's called Independent George. This one, and Relationship George together? That cannot stand.
Eureka Heights has teamed up with Real Ale for Full Tilt Boogie, a wheatwine filled up with Citra and Amarillo hops. ABV is 10 percent. Giddy up.
