If drinking an ice cold Mexican beer and getting your hair cut for free sounds like a good time to you—and frankly, why wouldn't it?—you have until Saturday night to live the dream.

That's when Gold Lion Barbershop, the salon-style pop-up from Modela Negra in the former Flower Vault space in Montrose, will end its three-day run. But there's still time! The Westheimer pop-up (which began last night) runs from 7–11 p.m. tonight and 4–9 p.m. tomorrow.

It promises "a barbershop unlike any other" with interactive elements and, yes, plenty of beer—attendees must be 21 and over—both in bottles and tasty infusions like one-of-a-kind Modelo Negra BBQ and taco dishes from Chef Randy Duncan of Daddy Duncan's BBQ and ice cream and sorbet from Fat Cat Creamery.

And don't worry, they're not arming bartenders with scissors, but rather enlisting well-known local stylists from Cutthroat Barbers and Cutloose Hair—including Brandy and Brandon Chu from the former and Sarah Victoria from the latter—for complimentary 'dos. Cutthroat is offering free cuts while Cutloose doles out dry trims and braids on a first-come, first-served basis.

Beats from DJs Phon & Tony Styles, Anthenz Media, and Seb Marmolejo plus perceptual art by Michael Murphy round out the immersive experience, and space is limited. If you want in, you must be on the list, so RSVP to modelanegrabarbers@gmail.com. And please, drink responsibly.
