ATX Takeover

When: Saturday, July 27; 9:30 a.m.–7 p.m.
Where: Forth and Nomad, 731 Yale St.
What: Save yourself the drive down 290 and just head to the Heights, where Austin-based artisans are taking over this curated shop full of small-batch, local goods. Sign up for individual workshops throughout the day including hand-painted totes with Susannah Haddad and botanical scarf-dying with Silk Diaries, then get your aura read—and photographed—with Mood by Moss Portraits. Very Austin.

Beauty Within Pop-Up

When: Saturday, July 27; 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Where: Lemon Laine, 714 Yale St. Suite 1K
What: Kickstart your weekend with a free, hour-long Pilates class (bring a mat!) right at 10 a.m., then sample the latest supplements from Ancient Nutrition at a collagen coffee and cocktail bar. Collagen coffee? Consider us intrigued.

Spoiled Latina Day

When: Saturday, July 27; 4–8 p.m.
Where: The Space HTX, 2005 Commerce St.
What: Yvonne Guidry—aka Spoiled Latina—is all about empowering your inner boss, and that theme continues in this fourth annual event that began as a blog anniversary celebration. Now, it's all about female empowerment—think panel discussions, a mini mall with local entrepreneurs, and plenty of opportunities for networking. Tickets start at $75 and include food, drinks, and a covetable goodie bag.

H-Town Sneaker Summit

When: Sunday, July 28; 3–8 p.m.
Where: NRG Center
What: Calling all sneakerheads: This circa-2003 biannual community gathering lauded by Complex promises "a celebration of sneaker culture like no other." Expect special guests, contests, prizes, and—of course—all sorts of rare and collectible footwear to expand your collection. Tickets start at $25/person for parties of four and up.

Enchanted Botanicals Bridal Show

When: Sunday, July 28; 6–9 p.m.
Where: The Space HTX, 2005 Commerce St.
What: Not all brides wear white—that's the thinking behind local designer Chasity Sereal's latest collection of dreamy, whimsical, and unconventional designs for the "non-traditional bride"—think pink ballgowns and structural jumpsuits—which she'll debut in her first-ever solo bridal show. Wedding-inspired decor plus signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres round out the runway experience, and a portion of proceeds will benefit Purple Out, a nonprofit that helps young adults aging out of foster care.
