Roman-style pepperoni pizza at Pizza Zquare.

It's been four months since Finn Hall had a pizza tenant (they formerly had one in its Mr. Nice Pie space), but that's all about to change. Later this summer the food hall will be bringing in Pizza Zquare, a completely new Roman pizza concept.

Pizza Zquare is the first brick-and-mortar concept from owner and operator Francisco Sierra. Inspired by trips to Italy, he'll be serving both basic (pepperoni, arugula and prosciutto) and Southern-inflected (barbecue pulled pork, loaded baked potato) pizza at $3 a slice and $20 a full (nine squares). He'll also have sandwiches, salads, and desserts, including a rainbow cake.

Less than a year after it was purchased by Culinary Khancepts from the now-defunct Cherry Pie Hospitality, Southern comfort restaurant State Fare Kitchen & Bar has announced it is opening a second location in late fall at Sugar Land Town Square. The 6,086-square-foot space at 15930 City Walk in Sugar Land will be open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, while also offering happy hour and late-night services.

"I couldn’t be more excited to share a restaurant I truly love to such an amazing community,” said Omar Khan, President and CEO of Culinary Khancepts. "A premier location within Sugar Land Town Square will allow us to expand our State Fare Kitchen & Bar brand and introduce this concept to another part of Houston."

Another Torchy's Tacos is about to open. Aug. 14 will be the first day of service for the Torchy's in West University, specifically at 5337 Weslayan St. at an outdoor shopping plaza. This will be the 14th Torchy's in the Houston area, and it'll be throwing a party Aug. 12 with free tacos, giveaways, and more. To learn more, visit the event page.
