Speaking of beer-to-go day, 8th Wonder is making eight beers available on Sunday at its taproom

This weekend is the 10th annual Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival in Galveston. The Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting is at 7 p.m. Friday; the Grand Tasting is set for 3 p.m. Saturday; and the Brew-B-Que is 11:30 a.m. Sunday, all at Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center. Tickets are $25-$85.

DeFalco's Home Wine & Beer Supplies is closing, and Saint Arnold is thanking owner Scott Birdwell for the years of service (helping homebrewers across Houston get on their feet) by throwing a little party from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Beer Garden & Restaurant.

For tomorrow’s Small Batch Wednesday we wanted to do something special in celebration of Labor Day weekend, so we are releasing three barrel aged beers. If you weren’t able to get a bottle of the Barrel Aged Chewy Bar, here is your chance to get a 32oz crowler of it. Also being released are two variants of BA Chewy Bar. For this release all 3 beers will be available on draft and in 32oz crowler/growler fills Wednesday ONLY. Anything left after Wednesday will be available for draft pours only. Each beer will be limited to one 32oz crowler/growler fill per person. We will also have The Culinary Boricua serving food from 4-9pm. Beers being released are: 1.) Barrel Aged Chewy Bar: 13% Imperial oatmeal stout brewed with chocolate and aged in honey barrels. 2.) Barrel Aged Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Chewy Bar: 13% Imperial oatmeal stout brewed with chocolate and aged in honey barrels, conditioned on peanut butter. 3.) Barrel Aged S’mores Chewy Bar: 13% Imperial oatmeal stout brewed with chocolate and aged in honey barrels, conditioned on chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers. All beers are single kegs and are available for draft pours and crowler/growler fills Wednesday ONLY. Each beer is limited to one fill per person. Beer Releases

Ingenious has re-released an oldie but goodie. Barrel-Aged Chewy Bar (yes, like the snack item) is available, as well as Barrel-Aged Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Chewy Bar and Barrel-Aged S'mores Chewy Bar. All 13 percent ABV, then conditioned on their specific ingredients. Very on brand.

Saint Arnold has a new one called Ari's Blonde. At 4.3 percent ABV, it's light and citrusy with pilsner malt. Also, Shot in the Dark is new: a 4.1 percent ABV dark lager with Saaz hops.

A newbie at Spindletap—Bull Rush DIPA—joined Checkmate DIPA for a release event this week. Some will be available starting at noon Saturday. Bull Rush is 8 percent ABV with Mosaic, Wai-iti and Vic Secret hops.

Saloon Door's Oktoberfest is coming, both on tap and in can.
