With so many different neighborhoods in the Greater Houston area, it's no wonder that Houston artists typically don't follow similar sonic patterns. Because of these different pockets in Houston, arguably, we don't have one sound that's inherently us, but a collection of unique mashups.
Here's all the new music released by some of the city's most talented.
Maxo Kream, "Local Joker"
Alief-born rapper Maxo Kream had been on a brief hiatus from releasing his own music, as he only guest starred on features with other artists, but his latest release "Local Joker" serves as a reminder that he's still got it. Utilizing his storytelling skills, he reminisces on days with his fallen brother, Mmadu Kream.
Banco Ray, "River City $ummer"
The 10-track project from Banco Ray features guest verses from Joey Freco, Sauvi the Coolest, and Le$ on "Keep It P." Offering a relaxing, luxe vibe, Banco Ray gives his fans something to blast this summer with the top down.
Marcellus Juvann, "Corso Freestyle"
Houston rapper Marcellus Juvan posted a freestyle this week showcasing his lyrical skills over Tyler The Creator's "Corso" beat. The freestyle will be a part of an ongoing series from the rapper, freestyling over a wide array of songs to hold his fans over while he's working on new music.
