It's seems like only a year ago that FreeRange Concepts announced its second Houston location of bar, restaurant, and entertainment venue The Rustic for Uptown Park. Okay, it was a year ago.

Now it's here. The Rustic Post Oak opened its doors Wednesday at 1121 Uptown Park Blvd, a 27,000-square-foot space for eating, drinking, and listening to live music, primarily Texas country. You should expect the same kind of look and menu found at The Rustic's first Houston location Downtown: a horseshoe-shaped bar; free music almost nightly; a deep tequila selection and frozen drinks; steaks; and Texas-friendly dishes like beer can game hen, chicken tinga tamales, queso (garlic and pimiento), and daily tacos with bacon-fat tortillas.

The Rustic Post Oak will be open for lunch and dinner, claiming to adhere to Gov. Greg Abbott's order to keep dining at 50 percent capacity, with social distancing in place and all workers wearing masks. Employees are also getting daily temperature screenings, and plexiglass has been installed between booths. Takeout and delivery are also available, and we at Houstonia encourage those practices.

“During these unprecedented times, we are grateful to have the opportunity to bring great new jobs to Houston," FreeRange co-owner Kyle Noonan said in a press release. The Rustic comes from a partnership between FreeRange and Texas country musician Pat Green.

"We are committed to providing a safe environment for our guests and team members, and you can rest assured that we are focused on keeping everyone happy and healthy while we all enjoy each other’s company, great food, cold drinks and awesome music," Noonan continued. "We look forward to serving the community and becoming an integral part of the Uptown Park scene.”

Hours for The Rustic Post Oak are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mon–Thurs, 11 a.m. to midnight Fri, 10 a.m. to midnight Sat, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sun.
