This weekend head to the Heights for a fun pub crawl; then prepare yourself for the release of an annual treat. Fall is here, folks—drink up.

News & Events

Four Heights-area (okay, three Heights-area and one in Sawyer Yards) breweries have united for a fun pub crawl concept called the 4-Pack Track. Eureka Heights, Great Heights, Holler, and New Magnolia have each made a new beer using the Nelson Sauvin hop. So on Saturday and Sunday, visit the breweries to try their individual creations. While at your first of the four, pick up a card, then get it punched at all four stops. That completed card will get you a T-shirt commemorating the crawl.

No Label's Oktoberfest is at 6 p.m. tonight. Go for a best-dressed competition, music by the Homebrewed Brass Ensemble, plenty of food, and, of course, beer. Prost!

Pumpkinator is on the way. Get it starting Monday.

Beer Releases

Saint Arnold's annual fall release, Pumpkinator, is coming your way Monday. Three beers will be released at Houston-area retailers and at the beer garden and restaurant. They are: Pumpkinator 2020 (22-ounce bottles), Pumpkinator Aged in Bourbon Barrels (12.9-percent ABV, 12-ounce bottles), and Pumpkinator Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Cocoa Nibs from Tejas Chocolate (12.9-percent ABV, 12-ounce bottles). Check Saint Arnold's social media ahead of time for more information.

Meanwhile, you can get a limited-edition Bohemian-style pilsner called Perfect Pils at Saint Arnold's beer garden and restaurant.

Ingenious is in the Halloween spirit with Fruit Brute, an imperial sour ale smoothie with cherry and marshmallow; Stout Chocula, an imperial milk stout with chocolate and cereal marshmallows; Franken FroYo, a New England-style double milkshake IPA conditioned on strawberries and cereal marshmallows; Smarty Boo Berry Fluff, a Berliner weiss conditioned on blueberries and cereal marshmallows; and Yummy Mummy, a Russian imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on oranges, cereal marshmallows, and vanilla beans. No guarantee that these beers are still available, either in can or on draft, so check with the brewery before trying to get yours.

New Magnolia has a fruited sour out called Hank's BBS (blackberry sour). It comes in at 6-percent ABV.

Check out Shutdown 6 at Sigma. This is what they're calling a hybrid IPA, looking like a West Coast IPA but tasting a bit more like an East Coast IPA (essentially dry-hopping with a juicier flavor). Shutdown 6 is at 8.4-percent ABV.

True Anomaly has canned Go Flight, a New England IPA that's double dry-hopped with Galaxy, Mosaic, and Citra.

It's fall at Saloon Door. The brewery's Pumpkin Spice Oktoberfest is out and available at the taproom in Webster.

New stuff at Vallensons': White Coffee Stout is an 8-percent ABV beer, while a rye pale ale is out at 5.5-percent ABV. Both are available at the brewery's taproom in Pearland.
