A tablescape of wintry delights, including smoked salmon and biscotti, vitello tonnato, and a winter citrus salad, at Rosie Cannonball's Spritz Patio.

Rosie Cannonball's Spritz Patio has received its much-anticipated wintry makeover, turning on November 6 into an Alpine chalet-style hangout. On custom benches, around fire pits in the newly refreshed red and white space, nibble on small plates like mushroom arancini, vitello tonnato, and a pork schnitzel sandwich. You can still get a dozen oysters and a bottle of Krug, but you can also finish your stay with cider doughnut holes and a s'mores sandwich. Cocktails from bar managers Alex Negranza and Sarah Crowl include Irish coffees and an herbal-flavored gin martini. The Spritz Patio is walk-up only.

At last, a storefront that combines yummy bready treats and fashionable facial hair is here. The Bearded Baker, owned by Allan Hursig, will open next week at 518 W 11th St in the Heights. Hursig, who has owned his business since 2016, was awarded first runner-up of the 2019 Food Network Christmas Cookie Challenge. At his new brick-and-mortar, he'll sell iced sugar cookies, drop cookies, seasonal cookies, scones, and personal-sized cakes. Phat Eatery's inner-Loop location inside the Blodgett Food Hall is now open. The restaurant at the ghost kitchen offers roti canai, beef rendang, chicken curry, curry laksa, and dim sum, plus items from the soon-to-open Yelo, a banh mi shop from chef Cuc Lam. Down the line, Phat Eatery owner Alex Au-Yeung plans on serving dishes from a new concept he's crafting called Pig + Duck, which will focus on Chinese barbecue.
