Description

HCAF16 is an eight-day, multi-venue festival that celebrates film and the arts.  The Festival will include over 50 films, interactive art installations, live performances, panel discussions, outdoor screenings, and student field trips!

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

CINESPACE16:  Award presentation of best film remixes of NASA space footage and a screening of “fulldome” art films at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

LIVE CINEMA:  Includes performance artists Slanty Eyed Mama on film and stage at Asia Society Texas Center.

SPECIAL GUESTS:  Includes choreographer and filmmaker Celia Rowlson-Hall at the Aurora Picture Show, indie film pioneer Billy Woodberry at HMAAC, and media artist Amie Siegel at the Menil Collection.

FILMS ABOUT THE ARTS:  Cinema Nova with Brazilian director Eryk Rocha, Tilda Swinton’s The Seasons in Quincy, and many more films on the visual, performing, and literary arts.

FESTIVE OCCASIONS:  Opening Night at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston featuring the film Honkey Tonk Heaven with a live performance from Dale Watson and Closing Night will be a free screening in the Downtown District!
