Alright. Alright. Are you sitting down? Take a deep breath. It's going to be okay. But you should know, Kate Spade now makes furniture, and you're going to need, like, all of it.
Go ahead and check your bank balance because starting this week the Kate Spade New York home furnishings collection can be yours. The introductory collection of 60 pieces including upholstered seating, tables, storage furniture, rugs and lighting is available online, to be followed with a full collection of 325 pieces available in Spring 2016.
What does it look like, you say? It looks exactly how you expect it would, if you are a fan of the brand's handbags, clothing, paper goods, tabletop accessories, bedding and myriad other categories. It's designed around classic clean lines, with shapes that bridge the gap between the feminine glamour of Hollywood Regency and the sleeker, more streamlined mid-century modern vibe.
There's a lot of black and white, usually together, spiced up with plenty of gold, and bright pops of pink and kelly green. There are easy, imperfect polka dots and elegant florals with a few picture-perfect details like contrast piping (on an easy chair) and brass handles shaped like bows to add pop to an end table.
Already dreaming of filling a quaint pied-à-terre with all of it? These aren't exactly IKEA prices—upholstered furniture starts around $2,000, tables and storage range from $675 for a side table to $5,200 for a credenza—but they just might make your pad the prettiest in town.
