Nicki graduated from Northwestern University and stuck around the Windy City for a few years before returning to her beloved hometown of Houston. Previously, she was the Editor of The Lake Forest Leader newspaper in Lake Forest, Illinois, having launched the paper in February 2015. Before that, she was the Assistant Editor of The Highland Park Landmark newspaper in Highland Park, Illinois. She has written for Men's HealthCatalyst Chicago and Advocate Magazine

Even though her job as Houstonia’s Digital Editor requires her to live on the internet, in her free time she can be found...also living on the internet. When she unplugs, she likes to play recreational kickball (albeit poorly) and cook unnecessarily difficult pasta dishes.
