Candente, the newest restaurant from the brains behind The Pit Room and 1751 Sea and Bar, has been earning raves for its menu of comfy, stick-to-your-ribs Tex-Mex favorites. Our pick of the delicious bunch is the El Director combination plate, an enormous platter loaded with a cheese enchilada and a ground beef one, both joyously smothered in American and cheddar cheese, plus an impossible-to-put-down crunchy beef taco, Mexican rice, creamy refried beans, and garlicky guacamole for a pop of freshness and color—wonderful with Candente’s warm, thick tortilla chips. Pair the plate with a premium reposado margarita. You’ll be so happy that you did.
