Details: More than 200 partygoers gathered November 12 at historic Fire Station No. 2 in Houston’s East End to mark the second anniversary of Pier & Beam, Preservation Houston’s next-generation member group. Chairs Emily Burke & Rob MacAskie, Ed & Olivia Persia and Nicole & Joey Romano welcomed the guests, whose passion for our city’s architecture, art, history and culture are fueling the future of Houston’s growing preservation movement.

Pier & Beam members promote the economic, environmental and community-enhancing benefits of historic preservation and support the work of Preservation Houston, the only citywide historic preservation education and advocacy organization in Houston. The Fall Party’s location, historic Fire Station No. 2 (1910) exemplifies preservation’s successes: occupied by the Houston Fire Department until 1983, the local landmark has been carefully restored by current owners Anne Whitlock and Michael Skelly, who graciously allowed Pier & Beam to use the firehouse for the event.
